Privacy Policy
Our Transparent Commitment to Your Privacy
Aaghaz Foundation is dedicated to empowering economically underprivileged children through zero-overhead educational support. We respect the trust you place in us, whether you are an individual donor, an institutional sponsor, a student beneficiary, an academic partner, or a volunteer. This Privacy Policy outlines our transparent standards for collecting, managing, protecting, and using personal information in full compliance with the Information Technology Act 2000, the SPDI Rules 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA 2023) of India.
1 Who We Are
Aaghaz Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit charitable trust established in 2004 and registered in India under Section 12A and Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. We operate on a community-driven model where educational fees and school supplies are distributed directly to schools and colleges on behalf of verified disadvantaged students to prevent dropouts and promote social mobility.
When this policy mentions "Aaghaz Foundation," "we," "us," or "our," it refers to the legal trust operating the website at aaghazfoundation.com, the Aaghaz Fund Management System (AFMS), and associated digital interfaces.
2 Information We Collect
We only gather data necessary to facilitate transparent charity management, comply with statutory tax reporting mandates, and conduct thorough physical field verifications of needy students.
Donor Information
Full legal name, phone number, permanent email address, postal address, and Permanent Account Number (PAN) or Aadhaar number, as mandated under Indian tax laws for issuing Form 10BE and 80G tax certificates.
Beneficiary Data
Student name, age, gender, school/institution enrollment details, academic report cards, fee breakdown receipts, and guardian income certificates recorded during rigorous home verification surveys.
Volunteer Data
Name, contact information, geographic location, occupation, and verification assignment history submitted voluntarily by individuals joining our on-the-ground volunteer corps across India.
3 How We Use Your Information
Every piece of collected information is dedicated to fulfilling our educational mission and statutory obligations. We utilize your data for the following specific purposes:
- Facilitating Direct Educational Aid: Routing 100% of donor-sponsored contributions directly to recognized schools, colleges, and coaching centers via account payee cheques or institutional bank transfers.
- Statutory Tax Receipt Generation: Submitting donor PAN and donation registries to the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) through Form 10BD, ensuring your donations automatically reflect in your Annual Information Statement (AIS) for seamless 80G tax deductions.
- Scholarship Auditing & Progress Tracking: Providing sponsors with individualized, anonymized academic report cards and fee submission confirmations through our Aaghaz Fund Management System (AFMS).
- Preventing Duplication & Fraud: Maintaining unified student and applicant registries to guarantee that community aid reaches genuinely deserving students whose families cannot afford continued schooling.
- Organizational Communication: Dispatching transaction acknowledgment receipts, annual impact summaries, audited financial reports, and scholarship announcements. We never send spam or unauthorized commercial solicitations.
4 Child Protection & Beneficiary Dignity Policy
A substantial portion of our beneficiaries are minor students. We hold a strict ethical and legal commitment to protect their dignity, psychological wellbeing, and safety in accordance with child protection standards and privacy jurisprudence.
- Dignity-First Media Representation: We never publish degrading imagery or sensationalist depictions of poverty. Photographs of students in our classrooms or scholarship ceremonies are taken and displayed with the explicit verbal and written consent of their legal guardians.
- Redaction of Sensitive Identifiers: Publicly visible scholarship appeals and case reports omit sensitive residential addresses, contact numbers, and vulnerable familial disputes to shield students from harassment or unwanted contact.
- Access Restrictions: Unrestricted physical verification reports containing children's confidential home data are restricted solely to authorized trust trustees and designated field verification coordinators.
5 Payment Security & 80G Tax Deductions
Financial safety is fundamental to our donor relations. All online donations processed through our web portal utilize industry-standard, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) compliant payment gateways (such as Razorpay or CCAvenue) secured with 256-bit SSL encryption.
We Do Not Store Banking Credentials: Aaghaz Foundation never accesses, collects, or stores your credit card numbers, debit card PINs, CVV codes, or net banking passwords. All financial transactions take place on tokenized, PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment network servers.
Donors requesting an 80G tax exemption receipt must furnish their valid PAN. In accordance with Section 80G(5) and Rule 18AB of the Indian Income Tax Rules, failure to provide a PAN precludes the issuance of Form 10BE and disallows tax exemption benefits.
6 Information Sharing & Third-Party Disclosures
We maintain a zero-monetization policy. Aaghaz Foundation has never sold, leased, rented, or traded personal donor or beneficiary data to commercial marketing agencies, data brokers, or advertising networks, and will never do so under any circumstances.
We share limited information only under the following strictly regulated scenarios:
- Partner Educational Institutions: Sharing student names, fee roll numbers, and academic particulars directly with accredited schools and universities to deposit tuition fees.
- Statutory & Regulatory Authorities: Reporting donation figures, PANs, and audited books of accounts to the Income Tax Department, the Registrar of Trusts, or legal enforcement authorities when mandated by lawful court orders or Indian statutes.
- Trusted Technical Service Providers: Engaging cloud hosting, enterprise email, and automated SMS alert providers bound by strict non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements.
7 Data Security & Retention Protocols
We implement multi-layered administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, accidental alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Donation transaction records, audited ledgers, and 80G compliance filings are retained for a minimum period of 8 (eight) financial years, as mandated by Section 139 of the Indian Income Tax Act. Beneficiary case histories are preserved for academic continuity throughout the student's schooling cycle and archived securely thereafter.
8 Cookies, Web Logs & Analytics
Our website uses minimal technical cookies and privacy-respecting analytics tools to evaluate page loading speeds, assess web visitor engagement, and troubleshoot navigation issues across desktop and mobile devices.

9 Your Legal & Privacy Rights
In accordance with Indian privacy laws and international best practices, donors, volunteers, and legal guardians of beneficiaries enjoy comprehensive rights regarding their personal data held by Aaghaz Foundation:
- Right to Access & Review: You may request a structured copy of the personal details we maintain regarding your donations or volunteer registrations.
